About the Workshop
Develop your coaching identity through direct observation of Europe’s most promising young table tennis players and their coaches at the WTT Europe Youth Smash.

This workshop provides a unique opportunity to observe high-performance youth table tennis in a competitive environment. Participants will gain insight into how coaches and players operate in an international elite competition setting, with a particular focus on coaching behaviour, communication, routines, training methods, and performance culture.

The workshop goes beyond simply observing matches. Through structured observation, guided reflection, and discussion, coaches will explore how successful coaches build relationships, coach during competition, lead athletes under pressure, and manage the demands of high-level performance. At the same time, participants will be challenged to reflect on their own coaching identity. By comparing their values, behaviours, and coaching philosophy with what they observe in an elite youth environment, they will identify opportunities to further develop their own practice.

The workshop is designed for coaches who are committed to continuous learning and want to strengthen both their coaching skills and coaching identity through direct insights from one of Europe’s leading youth table tennis events.
